Summer is here on Marley Grange

Summer is here! Some photos taken today of the various flower beds. As you can see with so many roads on the estate we have many signs and many flowerbeds. If you live near one, please be sure to water during these dry spells.

Tidy Districts and Community Involvement

Many of you have contacted us this year on the contributions you have made within your local street. It is a credit to all to see the estate looking so wonderful and we would like to thank in particular those who have been helping with elderly neighbour gardens. Keeping up appearances in our own houses is hard enough and it is great to see the contribution others have been making outside their own properties.

We have submitted our application for the DLRCC Tidy Districts competition again this year. We look forward to the judges visiting our estate this summer and keep up the great work!

Tidy Districts 2013

The Awards Evening for the DLR County Council Tidy Districts Competition was held on 12th Sept last. The category for housing estates from 201 to 500 was won by Ardagh Residents Association in Blackrock. Marley Grange has won this award in 2011 and 2012 and we knew it would be difficult to win 3 times in a row.

Regardless the adjudicators’ report gave great praise to the way in which the gardens & houses were maintained and we scored an overall 80% on their scoring system. Quoting the report they stated “Very nice neat and beautifully maintained estate. Houses and gardens maintained to a high standard throughout, several gardens immaculately presented with excellent landscaping features.”

They determined that our biggest failing was due to the low level of community effort from the residents on such occasions as volunteering for watering the plants and levels of involvement on community clean up days.  This is somewhere we would like more support on from the residents in 2014.
