Noise disturbance on Saturday 17th August 2019

An event took place on Saturday 17th / Sunday 18th August on Grange Road, which caused a significant amount of disturbance to local residents. MGRA are actively addressing the numerous concerns which have been raised by our members regarding the event.
Following a similar disturbance in 2014, an agreement was made to employ strategies which limit disruption during future events. Although in recent years these events have largely passed without significant concern, these strategies appear to have been ineffective on Saturday evening. MGRA have no legal framework to object to the holding of private functions. However, the property resides within South Dublin County Council, and we are currently engaging with elected representatives from that district to pursue the matter. Our objections, along with those of our neighbouring communities, have been carried forward to SDCC on our behalf. Council representatives are also now working to achieve an appropriate solution, which will prevent recurrence of such inconsiderate activity. Local councillors from DLRCC have also agreed to engage with SDCC, in support of obtaining a satisfactory resolution.
MGRA will update our website and Facebook page with all developments as they arise.
